A team of IRTA experts have contributed their knowledge to eFoodPrint to support the project to develop version 2.0 of the environmental calculator aimed at the agricultural sector, by performing technical advisory tasks to carry out a review of methodologies, an updating of the bases of data and a proposal of mitigation actions for the new version of the aforementioned eFoodPrintENV 2.0 environmental calculator, which began to be developed at the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona in 2010.

Thus, the main innovations provided by this new version of eFoodPrint ENV for the agricultural sector are:

1- Calculation of water footprint and carbon footprint according to ISO standards (14046 and 14067)

2- Mitigation recommendations to reduce the environmental impact of agricultural production

3- Incorporation of Eufrofització calculations and AWARE calculation methodology.

Among the group of user organizations we highlight entities such as: the Catalan Council of Integrated Production, Fruit of Speaker, Murciana of Vegetables, Verdcamp, Cerima Cherries, Coexma, Transa, among others.
